E: Euneece F: Felicity N: Nicole
A week before the Golden Week holiday...
F: So, where's our final destination this Saturday?
N: Was it already decided, Euneece?
E: Yep. Our day trip will start with clam-digging in the morning and culminate with strawberry-picking in the afternoon.
F: Wow! What a combination! Clams and strawberries, huh?
N: Are we really digging clams? Is there any alternative activity?
E: I'm afraid there isn't. Honestly, I don't like it myself but I already conceded since the majority voted for it.
F: (encouraging) Cheer up, guys! I bet it'll be fun.
It'll be our excursion into such activity.
N: I wish we could share your enthusiasm, Felicity.
E: By the way, for lunch, we'll have a choice of having a BBQ party in a park or go to a restaurant nearby.
F: I wonder if we'll still have the energy to put up our tent and prepare for the BBQ should we choose to go to the park.
E: Good point. We'll had probably bitten each other's fingers by the time the meat is cooked. (giggling)
N: Right. Let's just find a nice and cozy restaurant where we would be able to enjoy each other's company...
E: ... and relax after the gruelling morning activity.
Any preference for food?
F: Since we're already near the shore, we should go for seafoods.
E: But we would already smell like it after digging clams for an hour or so. Then there are those we dug which we'll be carrying in the van and cook for perhaps a couple of days... I might end up hating seafoods!
N: Ok. Then why don't we try the local food in that area instead?
E: Hmmm... that sounds more attractive to me. How about you, Felicity? (excusing herself for a while as she goes to the restroom while Nicole and Felicity discuss the options) When Euneece came back...
F: It's decided. We'll try the local food.
N: No. It's more of trying what's popular in the area.
E: Great! (answering excitedly)
F: It's all set then. (with a mischievous grin) We'll have clams for lunch!
E: Whhhhaaaaat!

F: わ！なんて組み合わせなの！貝とイチゴなのね？
N: 本当に貝を掘るの？ 別のアクティビティーはないの？
E: 残念ながらなさそうなのよ。正直、私もそれが気に入ってるわけじゃないんだけど、大多数がそれに投票したからすでに認めたわ。
F: (後押しする) 盛り上がってよ、みんな！きっと楽しいと思うわ！ 私達にとっては経験になるわ。
N: その情熱を共有できればいいと思うわ、フェリシティ。
E: それはそうと、ランチには、公園でのBBQパーティーか近くのレストランでの食事という選択肢があります。
F: 公園でのBBQを選ぶとしたら、テントを張って、食事の準備をするエネルギーが私たちに残っているかしら。
E: 重要なポイントね。 たぶん肉が焼きあがる前にお互いの指をかじっているでしょうね。 (クスクス笑う)
N: そうよ。 どこかすてきで、みんなでくつろげるレストランを探しましょうよ…
E: …それから午前中の疲れをリラックスして癒せる場所ね。食べ物の希望は何かありますか？
F: せっかく浜辺の近くにいるんだからシーフードに行くべきよ。
E: でも１時間かそれくらい貝を掘っていたらすでにシーフード臭くなっているわよ。それに掘った貝を車に積んで、たぶん3日かそれくらいはそれを料理することになるのよ…シーフードが嫌いになるかも。
N: わかった。じゃあ代わりに地域のローカルフードに挑戦してみる？
E: ん…私にはその方が魅力的だわ。あなたは、フェリシティ？
(ニコルとフェリシティが話している間、ちょっと失礼してトイレに向かう）
ユニースが帰ってくると…
F: 決めたよ。ローカルフードに挑戦することにしよう。
N: いいえ。その地域で人気のあるものに挑戦すると言う方が正しいかも。
E: やった！ (興奮して答える)
F: 準備万端ね。(茶目っ気のある笑顔) 昼食は貝を食べよう！
E: ななな何!
