I have always believed that traveling is good for our senses. It makes us experience things that we wouldn't normally encounter. In addition to that, it makes us understand things better and even make our views wider.
One of my dear learners, Megumi, went on a Europe trip with her friends. I'd like to repost her series here.

一日目。
狭い機内で耐えつつ、やってきましたヨーロッパ！
機内では殆ど眠れなかったけど、
いよいよ旅行が始まるのかと思うとテンションUP！
時差なんて全く感じないワタシ。えらいぞ、アドレナリン。
Day 1.
At last, we had arrived Europe! I was enduring to long flight...
I almost never sleep inside an airplane, but I feel high.
You see, finally our exploration will start!
I don't feel jet lag. Good job! My adrenaline. ;)
レンタカー屋さんに行き、手続き完了！
旅の相棒はフォルクスワーゲンゴルフ。（左ハンドル、マニュアル車）
今回はこのレンタカーと初日＆最終目的地のホテルのみ予約済み。
ホテル探しも旅の楽しみの一つ。
今回はどんな旅になるかな～～？！
We went through the formalities at the Budget rent-a-car.
Our buddy is a Volkswagen Golf, stick-shift, left-hand drive car.
We had made a reservation for this car and first and last accommodation.
It's one of the pleasures ... finding a good, inexpensive accommodation.
右側通行に気をつけつつ、いざ出発！
今日の目的地はチェコの熱海、カルロヴィ・ヴァリ(Karlovy Vary)です。
日本出発前の長期予報では旅行中ずっと雨の予報だったものの、実際は晴れ！！
私たちはツイている～♪
Let's go!
Don't forget right-hand traffic.
Today's destination is Karlovy Vary.
According to long-Range weather forecast, it'd rain everyday in our travels, but it was a sunny day!!!
How lucky we are!!
途中、予期せずビール工場を発見したので、早速寄り道。
私は運転手なので飲めないものの、ビールで作られた基礎化粧品を
買い込みご満悦。
ビールをグビッとやるために、目的地へ車を走らせます。
We unexpectedly discovered brewery, of course we had brief detour there.
I looked wistfully at beer tap, but I couldn't drink.
(Because I'm the designated driver.)
But we were delighted to buy some beauty products made from beer.
I was driving to today's destination again for the sake of drink "delicious" beer!
カルロヴィ・ヴァリは想像していたよりもとても大きな街だった上に
熱海ばりの坂道/カーブ/一方通行/狭い路地で車には辛い道。
なかなかホテルにたどり着けず苦戦。

とはいえ、ホテルは部屋も広く、繁華街のど真ん中に位置する便利な宿。
宿のスタッフさんもとても感じがいい。
早速フロントで教えてもらった地元料理を味わえる店へGo!
何せ今日はランチを食べていないのでお腹ペコペコ。
Karlovy Vary is a big town different from my image.
There were rapid, narrow, curved and one-way roads, like in Atami.
I had a hard time to reach today's hotel.
Although, hotel was very convenient because it was located in the center; the room was spacious. Staffs were friendly.
Immediately, we went out to eat Czech food! We were very hungry because we didn't have lunch.
おお～～これがチェコビールか～
確かに美味しい！
そして安い！！
天国だわ～
Wow, this is Czech beer! It's as good as I've heard.
Good taste, but cheap!!
I felt Czech Republic is a happy land!
