While on her lunch break, Nicole was surfing the Internet for plane tickets.
N: Hey, this website is having a Spring Sale!
T: What kind of site are you checking out?
E: (peering over Nicole's shoulders) Ah! She's shopping for inexpensive flights.
T: Where to, Nicole?
N: Home. I have to go home for my sister's nuptials.
T: Cool. Have you found any cheap flights yet?
N: Unfortunately, the prices are still high. Maybe I should wait for their summer campaign.
After a while, Nicole stood up.
E: Have you found a reasonably priced ticket?
N: Actually, I was thinking of starting to stock up on clear umbrellas.
T: For what? (wondering especially when she can see the sun shining brightly outside)
N: Well, since my sister's wedding is scheduled on the rainy season of the year, they would like me to buy 10 of those for the members of the bridal entourage.
E: So, they would be able to see where they are going, right?
N: Not really. Actually, it's more for aesthetic value.
T: Ae-what?
N: You see, if they would bring their own umbrellas most likely the colors would be different and might clash with the color motif. But, if we provide them with uniform umbrellas, it would look good in the picture, right?
T: Now, I understand. Don't you have those back home?
E: I don't think so. We have other colors but not the clear ones. I also sent some home.
T: Sent? (thinking her office mates are talking in riddles)
E: (smiling at Tami) Before we go home, we usually send a box ahead filled with goodies, like chocolates, clothes, cosmetics, etc.
N: Yeah, you have to do it in advance so that it would get there in sync with your arrival.
T: Wow! I didn't know that you guys have to prepare a lot before you go home.
E: Well, not all do that. But I do!
N: Ditto.
T: I would be tempted to eat all the chocolates!
(laughing at her own remark)
N: Ha ha! (getting ready to leave)
In that case, you have to practice self-control or you will be losing money by buying the same things over and over.

E: (teasing Nicole) I think you'll have a greater chance of finding those umbrellas rather than the cheap ticket!
T: I definitely agree with you on that, Euneece.

T: 何のサイトを見てるの？
E: （ニコルの肩越しに覗き込み）あ～！格安航空券を物色してるのよ。
T: どこ行きの？ニコル。
N: 故郷よ。妹の結婚式があるから帰らないといけないの。
T: あら、いいじゃない。それで格安チケットは見つかった？
N: それがあいにく、まだ高いまま。サマ―キャンペーンまで待たないといけないかもね。
しばらくして、ニコルが立ち上がった。
E: 手頃な価格のチケットが見つかったの？
N: 実は、透明のビニール傘を買いだめし始めようかと思って。
T: 何でまた？（とりわけ外では太陽がまぶしく照っているのを見て不思議に思い）
N: ええ、妹の結婚式が雨期に予定されているから、花嫁の付添い人用に10本用意してほしいんですって。
E: なるほど、それならどこに行くか見えるものね？
N: ううん。実はもっと美意識的な目的よ。
T: び、何ですって？
N: ほら、みんながそれぞれ傘を持ってきたら、おそらく色はバラバラ、モチーフの色と合わないかもしれないでしょ。でもみんなにおそろいの傘を渡したら調和するじゃない？
T: ははあ、なるほどね。でも透明のビニール傘、故郷にはないの？
E: ええ。違う色のものはあるけど、透明なのはないのよ。私も家に送ったもの。
T: 送った？（職場の仲間が謎めいたこと言っていると思いながら）
E: （タミに笑顔を見せ）私たちが家に帰る前にはね、たいていいろいろいっぱい詰まった箱を先に送るのよ。チョコレートとか、洋服とか、化粧品とかをね。
N: そうそう、前もって送っておけば、私たちが向こうに着くのと同時期に届くでしょ。
T: へー！みんな、家に帰る前にはいろいろ準備しなきゃいけないのね、知らなかったわ。
E: そうね、みんながみんなってわけじゃないけど。でも私はするわね！
N: 私も。
T: 私ならそのチョコ全部食べたくなっちゃうわ！
（自分のコメントに笑い）
N: アハハ！（出かける準備万端で）
それなら自制心を保つよう心がけないとね、さもないと何度も繰り返し同じものを買ってお金がなくなっちゃうわよ。
じゃ、また後で！（同僚たちに手を振り）
E: （ニコルをからかい）格安チケットよりむしろ、ビニール傘を見つける方がずっと簡単だと思うわよ！
T: まったくもって同感よ、ユニース。
