N: I already know that Maru and Kazu like alcoholic drinks. How about you, Miho?
Mi: Actually, I can't drink.
Ma: You mean you can't or you don't like them?
Mi: I can't because I easily feel dizzy with just a little amount of alcohol intake.
N: So, you can't hold your liquor. (writing it on the board)
K: That's too bad! You are missing one of the best things in life.
Ma: Ha ha! I second the motion.
N: C'mon you guys. Not everyone can drink beer like water. Right?
Mi: That's so true, Nicole. Plus, I feel bad when I drink. It feels like there are a thousand of horses inside my chest every time I sip even just a little wine. (pounding on the chest for emphasis)
K: Hey, I experience the same feeling!
Ma: While drinking?
K: Actually, I can relate to that sensation in a different situation though.
N: Such as? Do tell us, Kazu.
K: I go through that every Sunday morning. (teasing his classmates)
Mi: Huh? (feeling totally lost in the conversation)
Ma: Tell me, Kazu, do you have a heart condition that
only occurs on Sunday mornings?! (getting the hint)
N: Ahh! (finally following her learner's train of thought)
K: Actually, my heart palpitates with excitement every time I step into this office. (confounding his classmates more)
Mi: And may I ask you why?
K: It's because of the pretty and intelligent ladies surrounding me! Ha ha! Just teasing you guys.
(cracking up)
Ma: I knew it! (convulsing with laughter)
N: Oh, you guys!
K: Be still, my beating heart.

Mi: 実は、私は飲めないんです。
Ma: 飲めないのか、好きじゃないのか、どっち？
Mi: 少量のアルコールだけでもくらくらするから、飲めないんです。
N: じゃあ、お酒に強くないのね。 (ボードにそれを書く)
K: それは残念だよ！人生で最高な物の一つを逃しているね。
Ma: ハハ！ 動議に賛成するわ。
N: ちょっと待ってよ、みんな。誰もがビールを水のように飲めるわけじゃないのよ。でしょ？
Mi: まさしくその通りよ、ニコル。それに、飲むと気分が悪くなるの。ワインを一口すすっただけでも、何千頭もの馬が私の胸の中にいるような気分になるわ。
(強調するために自分の胸をたたく)
K: ああ、ぼくも同じ気分になったことあるよ！
Ma: 飲んでいる間に？
K: 実際は、違う状況で同じ感覚を覚えたんだけどね。
N: 例えば何？ 言ってよね、カズ。
K: 毎朝、日曜日になるんだよね。(クラスメートをからかう)
Mi: はぁ？ (会話にまったく付いていけていない様子)
Ma: 言いなよ、カズ。日曜日の朝だけ起こる心臓の異常があるっていうの？！ (ヒントに気付く)
N: あ！ (やっと自分のラーナーの一連の考えを理解する）
K: 実際は、毎回このオフィスに入った瞬間にワクワクして、ぼくの胸がドキドキするんだ。(クラスメートをもっと混乱させる)
Mi: 理由を聞いてもいいかしら？
K: それはステキで知性のある女性たちがぼくを囲むからだよ！
ハハ！きみたちをちょっとからかってみただけだよ。
(爆笑する)
Ma: だと思った！ (笑い転げる)
N: あなた達ったら！
K: 落ち着け、ぼくの高鳴る鼓動よ。
