N: Good afternoon, everyone! (greeted cheerfully)

N: Today, we are celebrating DCEC's 7th anniversary!
Congratulations to all of us and on behalf of DCEC, I would like to thank each and every one for the support you have given us.
A: No problem, Nicole!
N: With that said, let me explain the game we have prepared for you today.
H: I love games! Do we get a prize if we win?
(the idea of games and a prize piqued his interest)
I: Don't worry. (assured her seatmate)
There is always a prize and it is usually a good one.
A: Actually, even if you don't win, you still get a consolation prize. Not bad, eh? (winked at Hide)
I: Not to mention the things you learn during the game...
the laughter... the fun... (enumerated for their new friend)
H: Ok, I get it. You guys are big fans of DCEC games, aren't you? (teased the other two learners)
A/I: We are die-hard fans!
N: Thank you very much for answering Hide's question.
(looked appreciatively at Ichi and Aki)
Nicole continued to explain the mechanics of the "Memory Game" to the learners.
A: Sounds fun! My kids usually play this at home.
H: Yeah, I know this game. (said with a bright smile)
It's used to test our short-term memory and to practice the right-side of our brain.
N: That's correct, Hide!
I: I think my mother took a similar test last month. (smiled knowingly) They use something similar to detect Alzheimer's.
A: Ha ha! I know, we better do a good job then.
I: We'd better!
N: Good! I am glad that you guys are familiar with it.
Now, get your game faces on because we are about to begin.

セレブレーションを行っていました。
N: こんにちは、みなさん！ (元気よく挨拶）
E: こんにちは！
N: 今日はDCECの７周年記念を祝います! 私たち全員に
おめでとう。
そして DCECを代表して、皆さまお一人お一人のご協力に感
謝いたします。
A: いいんですよ、ニコル！
N: 感謝の気持ちを伝えましたところで、今日、皆さまのために
用意しました。
ゲームの説明に入らせていただきます。
H: ゲームいいね！ 勝ったら何か賞をもらえるの？
(ゲームと賞の響きが彼の興味をそそった)
I: 心配しないで。 (隣に座っている生徒を安心させる)
賞品はいつもあるし、それにたいてい良い物よ。
A: 実際は、負けても残念賞があるの。悪くないでしょ？
(ヒデにウィンクする)
I: ゲームの中で学ぶことは言うまでもないけどね…笑いと…
楽しみ… (新しい友だちのために数え上げる)
H: あ、そういうことか。みんなDCECのゲームが大好きみたいだね？
(ほかの２人のラーナーをからかう)
A/I: 私たちは根っからのファンです！
N: ヒデの質問に答えてくれてありがとう。
(感謝の眼差しでイチとアキを見る)
続けてニコルが「記憶ゲーム」のルールをラーナーたちに説明する。
A: おもしろそうね！私の子どもが家でよくこれをやって遊んで
いるわ。
H: うん、このゲーム知っているよ。(ものすごい笑顔で言う)
これは短期記憶のテストと右脳を動かす練習のために使われ
るよね。
N: そうよ、ヒデ！
I: 先月、母親が同じようなテストを受けたような気がする。
(お見通しだというようにほほ笑む) アルツハイマー病を調べる
ときにこれと同じようなテストをするのよね。
A: はは！ 知っているわ。じゃあ私たちはうまくやらないとね。
I: ほんとそうだね！
N: よかった！ このゲームをみんな知っていて。
じゃあ、そろそろ始めるから準備してね。
