During the Free Chat part of the lesson, the Nicole's
learners were reading their weekend stories.
Sora: (after reading her story about going to Ochanomizu,
Takadanobaba and Kuki) See, I was as busy as a bee
last Friday. And because of that, I'd like to
apologize in advance for not being able to study as
much as I should have for today's lesson.
Mariko: Excuses, excuses! (teasing her classmate)
Nicole: You had a very long day. I wonder where you got the
energy to do all those things.
Thank you, Sora. (looking at Mariko) Mariko, please
entertain us with your story.
M: I, too, had a hectic day. My Sunday started at 5 am...
(explaining a blow-by-blow account of her long day)
N: I was exhausted just by listening to your story.
S: Same here. You win this round, Mariko.
(raising both hands in surrender)
M: (laughing at her classmate's gesture) It's about time!
Your stories usually make mine very easy.
(shifting her gaze to her governess) How about you,
Nicole?
N: Well, let's see...
I went to Yamashita park to join the activities of a
festival last Saturday morning... (giving both learners
the specifics of the event)
Afterwards, I went straight home around 8pm to freshen up
for the birthday party I promised to attend.
My friends and I partied like crazy until the wee hours
of the morning.
M: And you were asking me a while ago where I get my energy?!
(chuckling)
S: I concede! This is your week.
N: (putting the imaginary crown on top of her head)
Thank you very much, ladies. (cracking everyone up)

S:（お茶の水と高田馬場、久喜に行った話をした後）ねえ、先週の
金曜日は本当に忙しかったの。そんなわけで、今日のレッスンの
勉強が思ったほどできなかったことを前もって謝っておくわ。
M: 言い訳、言い訳！（クラスメイトをからかう）
N: 長い1日だったのね。それだけのことをするエネルギーはどこから
くるのかしら。
ありがとう、ソラ。（マリコを見て）マリコ、あなたの話で
私たちを楽しませて。
M: わたしもとても忙しい日だったわ。日曜日は午前5時に始まって…
（長い1日について詳細に説明する）
N: あなたの話を聞いているだけでひどく疲れたわ。
S: わたしも。この論争はあなたの勝ちね、マリコ。
（降参して両手を上げる。）
M:（クラスメイトの手振りを見て笑う）もうそろそろ時間ね！
あなたの話は大抵私の気を楽にしてくれるわ。
（目をガヴァネスに移して）あなたはどうなの、ニコール？
N: ええと、そうね…
先週の土曜日の朝、フェスティバルに参加するために山下公園
に行ったの…（2人の生徒にそのイベントの詳細を話す）
その後、出席すると約束した誕生日パーティーの為にシャワー
を浴びに8時頃にまっすぐ家に帰って、私と友だちは明け方まで
狂ったようにどんちゃん騒ぎをしたわ。
M: そしてさっき私にそのエネルギーはどこから来るのって訊いたの！？
（くすくすと笑う）
S: 負けを認めるわ！今週はあなたの週ね。
N:（架空の冠を彼女の頭にのせる）
ありがとう、みんな。（全員大笑いする）
